Dehradun: Chief minister Harish Rawat, on Friday, pulled up senior officers from PWD and allied departments for failing to maintain quality control while building about 40 roads under Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) in six assembly constituencies, at a meeting held with state administrative officials including chief secretary N Ravishankar.
The assembly constituencies in question are Yamunotri, Chakrata, Dharampur, Tehri, Devprayag and Rudraprayag.
“The objective is to ensure that funds allocated for the construction of roads in the six constituencies are utilized to the fullest and not misused at any cost,” the CM said, adding that the state will not hesitate to initiate strict action against those responsible for any lapse or irregularity in construction.
Passing instructions to complete the works in the next two to three months, he also asked senior officers to conduct surprise site inspections at regular intervals.
